Tyler Brown Williams

Interviewed by: Lindsey and Lauren
Interview completed by: Tyler Brown Williams

1. Where are you from? I was born and raised in Dallas, Tx. When I was 20 I moved to Los Angeles for a year and I am currently residing out of Austin, Tx temporarily while I decide where I’m going next!
2. How did you get started? I grew up around music. My parents play in a band together so growing up me and my brother were always going to see them play so we really had no choice but to love music. The two of us played in a band together for a long time called Oceans Firing and once I moved to LA I had nobody to play with so I started writing music of my own…and now here I am!
3. Who inspired you to do music? Definitely my parents. My dad is a better guitar player than I’ll ever be and my mom is a better singer than I’ll ever be!
4. Favorite song at the moment? Hmmm that’s a tough one. I’m probably gonna have to go with “Falling For You”  by Colbie Caillat. She blows my mind.
5. Favorite band at the moment? I’ve been jamming the new Phil Wickham record pretty regularly so I’m gonna have to go with that.
6. If you could tour with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why? If I could tour with anybody right now it would most likely be Taylor Swift. As cliche as that sounds, her songs are incredible and I would love to get to hear them every night.  If it was somebody dead (morbid) I’m gonna have to go with the typical answer and say The Beatles… I mean who wouldn’t want to tour with them.
7. Favorite place to shop? I get the majority of my clothes at Urban Outfitters.  I’m super picky about the clothes I wear and i end up wearing the same thing every day.  I definitely am in serious need of some shopping!
8. Favorite place to eat? Being from Texas I’m gonna have to represent and say any Tex Mex place in the state of Texas is going to be amazing.  Other than that I could eat at Chilis the other day. Or Pei Wei…I love eating.
9. If you were an ice cream flavor, what flavor would you be? I would be a mixture of peanut butter, chocolate, brownies, cheescake, gummy bears, and sprinkles.  Whatever you wanna call that..go for it!
10. Any siblings? I have one brother, Jess, who is an incredible musician..we’ve been playing together our whole lives.
11. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In 5 years I honestly have no idea! If I had my way I will definitely still be touring and playing music with my best friends. I would love to have a wife and a cat and a bunch of Ikea furniture somewhere in there too : )
12. First cd you ever bought? My first cd ever was a group called Soul 4 Real.  The cd was titled “Candy Rain.” Still my favorite to this day.
13. First concert you ever went to? The first band I ever saw live was The Spin Doctors and it was amazing! But that was at some outdoor festival. The first actual concert I went to was No Doubt, Lit, and The Black Eyed Peas ….it was way before Fergie was even in the group…old school.
14. Favorite thing to do in your spare time? I love learning new things. I’ve been reading a lot of books lately which if you’ve known me for a long time is an extremely weird thing to come out of my mouth. I love doing normal guy stuff. Eating, bowling, playing video games, being unproductive…the usual.
15. Any upcoming projects? I’m currently just writing as many songs as I can and am looking to start recording all of the new material towards the end of the year. I’m looking to get back on tour full time come 2010!

And Then There Was You

Interviewed by: Lindsey and Lauren
Interview completed by: Alex- And Then There Was You

Hey, I’m Alex and I play drums for the band And Then There Was You.

1. Where are you from? Miami, FL
2. How did you get started? We’ve all played in pretty known bands in the area and decided to start ATTWY about 3 years ago. It clicked so we stuck with it.
3. Who inspired you to do music? I’d say bands like Nirvana, Pantera, New Found Glory, etc. inspired all of us. Growing up listening to these bands, going to shows and what not definitely made me want to be in a band. I started my first band when I was like 15 and decided I wanted to do music ever since.
4. Favorite song at the moment? Oh boy…this is a hard one. There’s a few jams that I have been listening to non-stop as of late, but if I had to pick one I’d say “Summer Jam” by Set Your Goals.
5. Favorite band at the moment? Another hard one! Haha. Hmmm…again, plenty of awesome bands right now. Not my favorite band of all time, but to answer your question I’m gonna go with Circa Survive. They never disappoint! Can’t wait for the new record.
6. If you could tour with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Even though it would make no sense genre wise, my choice would be Pantera. They’ve been my favorite band since I was a kid. Awesome band! Not to mention partying with them would be brutal. Check out their home videos and you’ll know what I’m talking about!
7. Favorite place to shop? Any place that has drum gear! I’m sure you meant clothing wise which in that case any band I do shirt trades with at shows or some of the awesome clothing co. that endorse us. (StereoBear, LoveLess, etc.)
8. Favorite place to eat? Panera Breeaadddd!
9. If you were an ice cream flavor, what flavor would you be? Phish Food! Best ice cream ever! You should try it!
10. Any siblings? Yeesss. 6 brothers and sisters. All younger than me. They rule!
11. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? On a tour bus traveling the world playing music.
12. First cd you ever bought? CD? Ha! I’m old school! First TAPE I ever bought was “Dookie” from Green Day, “Smash” from The Offspring and “Nevermind” from Nirvana. I bought all 3 the same day. just sayin’.
13. First concert you ever went to? Silverchair and Local H when I was like 14! Good times!
14. Favorite thing to do in your spare time? Internet!!!
15. Any upcoming projects? Yea, I have a science project due next week. Toootallyyy kidding. We have a new record coming out Oct. 13th titled, “What Doesn’t Kill Us Makes Us Stronger.” Keep posted for that. Mark your calendars! See you guys on the road!!

Thanks girls! =)

1. Where are you from? Originally, I am from Battle Creek, Michigan! But NOW, I live in a small town called Herriman, Utah. I love it here so much.
2. How did you get started? I have been in several musical projects, but have usually been the only one with the determination and desire to move forward, so I decided to start a solo thing, and this is where it has got me! I honestly woke up one morning and tried to sing, then just tried to write a song and it turned out REALLY well.
3. Who inspired you to do music? Man, my friend Nathan Turley. He is an incredible musician that really made me want to play guitar. So I picked up on that, and started playing non stop.

5. Favorite band at the moment? Probably Owl City and The Summer Set
6. If you could tour with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why? I think Stephen Jerzak, we were going to do a couple things together before he got big ahaha. And ummm… The Maine and The Summer Set and A Rocket To The Moon. And of course it wouldnt hurt to throw in Owl City hahaha

15. Any upcoming projects? Yes! I am recording another EP that I will be releasing next year! It will be a 5 song EP with a bonus cover!
It includes: NoOtherWay, ThisIsReal (the full version), OurSmallTown, and a couple others. I took a different approach with this CD. Our Small Town is a full band song. It has a Rocket To The Moon feel on it. I like it a lot. And one I have completely acoustic. One kind of electronic. Its way cool and I am excited for everyone to hear it!

The Goodnight Anthem

Interviewed by: Lindsey and Lauren
Interview completed by: Joe Flack - The Goodnight Anthem

1. Where are you from? We are from Philadelphia PA. We consider Philly and West Chester (a town outside of the city) our hometowns.
2. How did you get started? We have all know each other for years from highschool and from playing in bands locally. When two of our bands had members fall out, we decided to merge the two and start The Goodnight Anthem. Couldn’t be happier with our members now and with what we are doing!
3. Who inspired you to do music? Music has been in all of our lives since we were little. Going to local shows and looking up to bands that we saw made us want to play music ourselves. I am personally inspired to make music and to write lyrics because it means the world to me that kids care enough to listen to what I am saying.
4. Favorite song at the moment? “Next In Line” by Meese. I just learned about this band and they are GREAT!
5. Favorite band at the moment? Brighten!
6. If you could tour with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Hmm thats a good one. I would have to say Third Eye Blind beacuse they are my favorite band of all time.
7. Favorite place to shop? H&M. I love the clothes they have there and their stuff is super cheap. I also shop the iTunes store quite a bit to support other artists and get my favorite singles.
8. Favorite place to eat? At the moment I would have to say a historic Philly place called Pat’s. Best cheasteaks in the city…I swear.
9. If you were an ice cream flavor, what flavor would you be? Vanilla. It’s a classic and never let’s you down.
10. Any siblings? I have one older brother named Joe. He’s 21 and a great guy.
11. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Hopefully still doing music and being succesful! Our goal is to make a career out of diong what we love, so in 5 years from now if we are making music and people are still caring about us I will be happy.
12. First cd you ever bought? HA can not remember! Maybe Trick Daddy?!
13. First concert you ever went to? The Starting Line! PHILLY REP!
14. Favorite thing to do in your spare time? Hang out with my friends. My friends are my family and being with them is everything to me.
15. Any upcoming projects? We have a BRAND NEW EP on the way ! tracking is finished…just waiting for mixes and release plans!

we travel in forest green mini vans.

So this is our first blog post…we’re BLOGGERS now…woot woot, cyber high fives all around. Anyway, today we took our 1st and 2nd period finals. Epic fail on the geometry final, well we don’t know that yet, but we have a hunch…but really if you just look our situation and look over all of our math grades, our grades combined aren’t even close to an A. Enough talk about how we are disappointments to our families…TIME TO BLOG.

OH and a bird just flew into the window…Poor bird.

Back to life…back to reality. We will be posting…UPDATE UPDATE…birds are sworming the house! Anway, what were we saying?  Oh yeah…we will be posting random, we mean RANDOM blogs frequently. COUNT ON THAT. Included in the blog posts will be ideas, in which are ours. NOT yours. SO DO NOT STEAL THEM. They came from ze brain(s).

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE LISTENING TO. If you don’t want to see…well that’s unfortunate.

ONE MORE DAY UNTIL FREEDOM! That’s sick kidds.

Later tater,

Lindsey and Lauren
